Well, this Sunday we decide to go to somewhere nearby coz Dad feels a bit tired. So we watch a Disney’s movie in Odeon Surrey Quays, have some lunch and play with the pigeons – which is the best part of the day…

I like pigeons because they can fly and because they like to be fed. I feed them with chips today coz it’s all I have left from my lunch.

We cut the chips into small pieces, throw them into the ground and then the birds eat them.

I love spring time!.

Going fast… as cool as like Lightning McQueen in Disney’s Cars. Ka-Chow !

But… London…London…London… A great place with not a great weather.

It was raining the whole day and I couldn’t go to the park nearby to play with my new scooter.
So, we decided to go to Canary Wharf Shopping Center. It’s not far from our place and only takes 10 minutes by DLR.

It wasn’t that easy to find the good spot to play scooter in the busy shopping center.

But after going around the mall, we finally got a very good spot for me to play with my scooter.

I get bored easily, just like my mum:).
I have all the best toys in the world (well, for me they are the best…) from Transformers, Lego, Cars, Trains, you name them. But, I always want to play something different every day.

Luckily, I have my Nintendo DS with over 100 games in it. Today, I play a new game, it’s called Junior Brain Trainer. It’s my mum’s fave game, cause she doesn’t like other games in my DS, such as racing car, Kung Fu Panda, and Mario Bross.

It’s hard at first to play this new game, but after several efforts, I can handle it. I did it, mum!.

I haven’t mastered it yet, but at least I can do it…

But I still need a friend, mum. I know you bought me DS so that I can play by myself.

But sometimes I want to play with you and dad. Please play with me on weekends, please don’t do anything else…..

Last weekend was a big weekend for Dad. One of his dreams was coming true; visiting Old Trafford. If you ask him to list down places that he wants to see before he dies, then Old trafford will be one of them. Maybe it will be in top 5.

Our first day in Manchester wasn’t that good. It was raining the whole day, so we just visited the city center and Manchester City stadium at the Sport City.

On the 2nd day, we went to Old Trafford. The weather was okay, though it was a little bit gloomy, but the most important things, it wasn’t raining.

It only took 5 mins walks from where we stayed at Chester’s Hotel.

Since there was no match on that day, we could take a tour inside the stadium. It wasn’t expensive; around 15 pound per person for 1 hour tour. The most important thing was that they took you around the stadium. From east to west, inside and outside, the museum, the player’s changing room, and the waiting room where Victoria Beckham used to have a diet coke while she was waiting for David Beckham.

Not only that, they also took us to the player’s changing room and gave us 5 minutes for taking pictures. How generous….

Last things that we did was shopping, a hobby that I got from my auntie.

Unfortunately, we do not get the best spot. It’s just a little bit too far at the top. Can’t really see the players, really, only their shirt numbers.

On the second half, finally Chelsea make a breakthrough and score 2 goals. Mum is maybe right, that Chelsea need support from their truly blue fans. Let’s take some pictures before we leave the Stamford Bridge.

Daddy met his old friend, Juandi Tan, who according to Dad is one of the highest paid SAP consultant. But, sorry girls he is taken

After the match, we went to Westfield to have a dinner. It’s in a Malaysian restaurant called Jom Makan.

“This Tea Tarik is super nice….” (Tea tarik = Malaysian traditional tea).

Not only that, I also have a chance to meet a new Indonesian friend in London. Her name is Nadira. Nice meeting you…

Mum is waiting for me. “Good boy”, she said

“Just a little bit of gel will make your spiky hair looks good”, said the barber.

Mmmhh, I don’t feel that confidence with my new hairstyle….

It has been a long time since we want to buy a good cookbook, either Jamie Oliver’s or Nigella Lawson’s. Mummy said Jamie’s food is good. We also went to his restaurant, tasted his food and liked it. “We should buy his book”, said Dad.

However, Nigella’s cook is easier to follow. Dad saw her in a BBC show and said it would be good for beginners like Mum and himself. Finally we decided to buy our 1st cookbook. “Recipes from the heart of the home” by Nigella Lawson. Daddy doesn’t really like the full tag line. Just stop until ‘heart’ will be good. As people said, “Mum’s cooks are always the best, because she cooks from the heart”.

And the first recipe that we try is “Spicy Sausage Patties with lettuce wraps“, yup… we don’t use the Lettuce wraps.

Mmmm… a little bit too spicy for me, but it tastes good, though. I never think that Mum and Dad can cook this good. Maybe the picture doesn’t really look appealing like in Nigella’s book. But it tastes good.

Here you go the full recipe… Hope Nigella doesn’t mind if we copy and paste her recipe in here. At the end of the day we are just trying to help her promote her book

Makes 16 patties

400g good quality sausages or sausage meat                     2 tsp chopped fresh corriander

1 tsp grated fresh ginger                                                         1 x 15 ml tbsp vegetable oil

1 green chili, de-seeded and chopped

1 red chilli, de-seeded and chopped                                     to server:

2 tsp English mustard                                                            Leaves from 1 escarole or iceberg

1 garlic clove, peeled and grated                                          Lettuce, or 2 little Gems, to wrap sausage patties

Zest 1 lemon, finely grated                                                    pitta breads or flat breads, warmed

1 thin or 1 fat spring onion, finely chopped                       2 – 3 limes, cut into wedges

• Cut a nick in the sausage skins and gently squeeze the sausage meat out of the casings into a bowl, or simply put the sausage meat in a bowl, then add the ginger, chillis, mustard, garlic, lemon zest, spring onion and coriander
• Mix everything together thoroughly, and then make patties by using a cook’s tablespoon (15 ml) measure for each one or just go by eye and feel, as you pull out roughly a walnut sized amount (or a tiny a bit less) at a time and shape it into a fat, little disc
• Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the patties over a medium heat for about 3 minutes a side. Watch they don’t catch too much; you want them to look temptingly scorched on outside, but not until you know they’re properly cooked through.
• Transfer to a serving platter and arrange the lettuce leaves and breads to wrap the patties in on another plate. Put some of the lime wedges alongside, too, and anything else you want to eat with them.

Right, so this is what’s gonna happen when everyone wants to be a Santa…

Finally, they are successfully covering the Lion’s head with a giant Santa’s hat. Merry Xmas, everyone!!.

Anyway, before leaving the city, we would like to take our family pictures in the best spot in Sydney; Mrs Macquarie’s chair, where you can see the Opera house and the Harbour Bridge so clearly from here.

Daddy says this is the best spot to enjoy fireworks on the New Year Eve, but you need to be here early in the morning if you want to do that. Guess it’ll be too much for us just to wait for the fireworks from early in the morning.

We can not really take a lot of pictures since we do not have so much time. Our flight will be at 1 PM, and we need to be in the airport 3 hours before the departure time.

Thanks to Uncle Hadi, who is willing take our lovely pictures with his Canon 5DS Mark II… (Good Camera, unfortunately it’s too expensive for Daddy to afford it). We are so lucky he doesn’t mind to wake up early morning just for taking our pictures.
